Mavrix Build Co. has delivered more than 850 projects across the metro. We self-perform the critical path, keep design and estimating in one room, and back every build with a five-year workmanship warranty. That is the whole pitch.
Mavrix Build Co. began in 2009 with one superintendent, one truck and a conviction that the construction business had a credibility problem it had earned. Homeowners and business owners were being handed lump-sum numbers with no scope, then charged for the scope they thought they had already bought.
We built the company the opposite way. Every proposal names the products, states the allowances and lists the exclusions. Every contract is fixed price wherever the scope allows it. Every schedule is published weekly, including the weeks when the news is bad.
Seventeen years later that approach has produced 850-plus completed projects, a team of 42 craft professionals who work for us directly, and roughly 70 percent of our annual volume coming from repeat clients and referrals. Most of our growth has come from clients who tried the low bid once and decided it was not worth the experience.
We still do it the same way. The person who promises you a number is the person accountable for it, and if we cannot hold a number, we would rather tell you before you sign than explain it after.
See What We Have BuiltThese are not marketing lines. They are the reasons we have walked away from work and the reasons clients keep coming back.
Fully licensed in Missouri and Kansas, with continuous general liability and workers’ comp coverage.
Your signed proposal is your final number. No surprise change orders on scope we priced.
Every Mavrix-built assembly is backed in writing for five full years.
Our own employees, not day labor. Photo-badged, uniformed and drug-screened.
Design, engineering, permitting and construction sit under one roof, so nothing falls between trades and nobody points fingers when a detail matters.
You get a live look-ahead every Friday with what is complete, what is next and what we need from you. No radio silence.
Brooms out every afternoon, debris hauled weekly, walkways protected. A clean site is a safe site and a faster build.
We know how Kansas City reviews, inspects and permits work in each jurisdiction, and we carry the relationships to move quickly.
Five phases, the same on every project. You always know which one you are in and what happens next.
We walk the property or review your plans, talk through budget ranges and constraints, and tell you honestly whether your scope and number are compatible before you spend a dollar on design.
Our in-house team produces drawings, a line-item estimate and a permit package. You see allowances, alternates and exclusions in plain language, not a lump-sum guess.
Long-lead materials get ordered, trade partners get scheduled, and you get a written schedule plus a single point of contact who answers your calls for the life of the job.
Daily supervision, weekly owner meetings, third-party inspections at each phase, and photo documentation uploaded to your project file.
We punch the job with you, correct every item on the list, hand over as-built drawings and manuals, and start your five-year workmanship warranty.
No rotating cast of subcontractors. Our superintendents, estimators, designers and concrete crews are direct employees, and they stay with your project from start to finish.
Founder & Principal · 26 years in construction
Marcus started Mavrix Build Co. in 2009 after fifteen years running field operations for a regional commercial contractor. He is a licensed Missouri general contractor, an OSHA 30 certified supervisor, and still walks every active job at least once a week. He is the person who signs off on every fixed-price proposal before it goes out.
“If we cannot hold the number, we should not have quoted it.”
Director of Operations · 14 years in construction
Renee runs scheduling, procurement and client communication across all divisions. She built the weekly look-ahead reporting system that clients see every Friday, and she is the person who calls you before a problem becomes a surprise. She came to Mavrix from healthcare construction, where schedule discipline is not optional.
“A schedule you only look at once is not a schedule.”
Senior Superintendent · 21 years in construction
David has supervised more than 200 projects in the Kansas City metro, from downtown tenant improvements to custom homes in Johnson County. He is the one who enforces the daily broom-out and the pre-task safety planning, and he has never had a lost-time incident on a project he has run.
“A clean site is a safe site, and a safe site is a fast site.”
Lead Designer & Architect · 12 years in construction
Aisha leads our design-build studio, producing architectural drawings, permit sets and 3D visualization for both residential and commercial projects. She works directly with our estimating team during design so clients learn what a decision costs while it is still a sketch.
“A drawing the builder cannot price is a drawing that will change later.”
Chief Estimator · 18 years in construction
Tom has priced over $180 million of construction in the Kansas City market. He is the reason our fixed-price contracts hold: he builds estimates from line-item takeoffs rather than square-foot rules of thumb, and he flags the risk items before the contract is signed rather than during construction.
“The cheapest bid is the one with the most assumptions hidden in it.”
Concrete & Foundations Foreman · 16 years in construction
Carlos runs our concrete division and has placed more than a million square feet of flatwork and foundations across the metro. He controls water-cement ratio at the truck, verifies base compaction himself, and cuts control joints on schedule even when the schedule is inconvenient.
“Concrete does not fail. Subgrade fails.”
Client Experience Manager · 9 years in construction
Jennifer is the first person most clients meet and the person who keeps selections on schedule. She runs the selection calendar with hard deadlines, coordinates showroom appointments, and follows up on warranty requests within one business day. Clients consistently name her in their reviews.
“Most delays are a decision that did not get made in time.”
Commercial Project Manager · 13 years in construction
Andre manages our commercial tenant improvement and ground-up portfolio, including medical, retail and light industrial work. He handles submittals, RFIs, change order documentation and owner meetings, and he is fluent in the plan review processes of every jurisdiction we build in.
“The owner should never be the one coordinating between trades.”
Ask any contractor you are considering for these four things. We publish ours.

General liability and workers’ compensation coverage maintained year-round.
“We lived in the house through a sixteen-week renovation with two kids under five. The dust containment genuinely worked, the crew swept every single afternoon, and we kept a functioning kitchen until the last month. The beam they installed to open up the kitchen is completely invisible. You would never know a wall was there.”
“Nine operatories, medical gas, radiology shielding and a state inspection. Mavrix prepared the documentation package before the inspector even scheduled, and we passed on the first attempt. Opening on the date we committed to was worth more to us than any savings on a lower bid.”
“Thirty-eight homes, different insurance carriers, different adjusters, and a lot of anxious neighbors. Mavrix organized it street by street and kept every single homeowner informed. They got six of the eight denied claims overturned with better documentation. That is not something a door-knocking crew does.”
Whether you are planning a commercial build-out, a custom home or a roof replacement, the first conversation is free and there is no obligation. We will tell you honestly what your scope costs in this market.
