About The Role

Commercial Project Manager at Mavrix Build Co.

Our commercial division needs a project manager who can hold a schedule and a budget while keeping an owner genuinely informed. You will run three to five concurrent projects in the $250,000 to $4,000,000 range across retail, office, medical and light industrial.

What you will do

  • Manage project budgets, cost reports and change order documentation
  • Build and maintain the CPM schedule, and issue weekly look-aheads
  • Solicit, level and award subcontractor bids
  • Run weekly owner meetings and issue written minutes
  • Manage the submittal, RFI and closeout logs
  • Coordinate inspections, commissioning and certificate of occupancy
  • Review subcontractor pay applications and approve draws

What we require

  • Five or more years of commercial construction project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience with projects in the $500,000 to $5,000,000 range
  • Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling tools
  • Strong written communication; you will be writing owner reports every week
  • Knowledge of commercial building codes and inspection processes
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred

Nice to have

  • Experience with healthcare or medical office construction
  • Familiarity with Kansas City metro jurisdictions and their plan review processes
  • Guaranteed maximum price and design-build delivery experience
