About The Role

Lead Carpenter at Mavrix Build Co.

We are looking for a lead carpenter who takes pride in the details that nobody sees. This role runs the carpentry scope on custom homes, additions and whole-home renovations across the Kansas City metro. You will be responsible for layout, framing, structural work, and finish carpentry through trim and hardware.

What you will do

  • Lay out and frame structural and non-structural walls, floors, roofs and stairs
  • Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, and raise conflicts before they become rework
  • Install doors, windows, trim, cabinetry, hardware and exterior trim details
  • Direct and mentor two to four carpenters and apprentices on site
  • Maintain daily site cleanliness, tool accountability and safety compliance
  • Coordinate with the superintendent on material deliveries and inspection scheduling
  • Document daily progress with photos in our project management system

What we require

  • Six or more years of carpentry experience with at least two in a lead or foreman role
  • Strong working knowledge of current residential building code
  • Ability to read and work from architectural and structural drawings
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Own basic hand tools; power tools and specialty equipment provided
  • Ability to lift 80 pounds, work at heights and in varying weather conditions
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred; we will fund it if you do not have it

Nice to have

  • Experience with high-performance envelope detailing such as ZIP System or similar
  • Concrete formwork experience
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
