About The Role

Estimator at Mavrix Build Co.

This role sits between design and field operations. You will be pricing projects while they are still being drawn, which means your feedback shapes the design instead of arriving after it is finished. If you enjoy the analytical side of construction and want your numbers to actually hold, this is the job.

What you will do

  • Perform quantity takeoffs from architectural and structural drawings
  • Build line-item estimates with labor, material, equipment and subcontractor costs
  • Solicit and level subcontractor bids for each trade scope
  • Prepare written proposals with named allowances and a clear exclusions list
  • Provide real-time cost feedback to the design team during design development
  • Track actual costs against estimates and report variance at project closeout

What we require

  • Three or more years of construction estimating experience
  • Strong quantity takeoff and plan-reading skills
  • Proficiency with estimating software and spreadsheets
  • Understanding of residential and light commercial construction means and methods
  • Clear written communication for client-facing proposals
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field preferred

Nice to have

  • Experience pricing design-build delivery
  • Knowledge of the Kansas City subcontractor market
  • Estimating certification through ASPE or AACE
